In Spain, there are over 3 million electronic sports (eSports) enthusiasts—people who play or watch more than 10 hours per week of this type of content. Currently, eSports competitions are professionalized, with both leagues and teams managing budgets in the millions of euros. As a final point, sponsorship in the sector grows by around 12% year over year.

However, job positions such as players lack specific training and are therefore 100% self-taught. The sector has grown so much that it now requires the professionalization of its key roles.

There is no certified qualification to become an eSports player. Currently, both professional and amateur players share the following characteristics:

  • They are self-taught.

  • There is no studied and solid method to:

    • Prevent malpractice in eSports

    • Maximize the performance of players and teams

    • Professionalize the role of the player

The eSports sector, in terms of audiences, competitions, budgets, and the growth of non-professional teams, demands specialized training.

Our proposal:

  • It is designed and taught by active industry professionals who are also passionate about teaching and developing efficient training methods.

  • It mirrors the traditional sports system, supported by Spain’s Sports Law 10/1990 of October 15, which regulates the necessary competencies to become a sports coach.

  • It includes a common module focused on player development and a specific module tailored for each game.
